Cold Shoulder Dress

Hi, my name is Erin and i'm obsessed with Target. I love everything about it. You know that video that went viral with the girl walking around Target? Easily could have been me!  So when I was killing time to meet my mom over the weekend and just "ran in" to grab a Birthday present, i came out an hour later with the present...and a new dress and Easton a new outfit.

Back on Target.
This cold shoulder dress is TDF (to die for.) When I put it on and sent a picture to my dear friend I looked a HOT mess, including workout socks, I said yes or no? She said NO! Ugh but I loved it, so I bought it! Pair it with wedges and twirl up your hair and it looks FAB!

Younique Fiber Lashes

Unless you've been living under a rock without any form of social media you've heard of Younique. I claimed I wouldn't give in and I did really well for a long time, then when they created this 3d+ I jumped on the bandwagon!...and have NO regrets!! We always see people who sell it advertising, but we hardly ever hear reviews from people who don't! So just to make that clear, I bought this with my own money, I don't sale it and I will not make anything off of this! These are my own personal reviews!!

I've only used it twice so far (i got it in the mail Saturday) and I already have a few tips!!
1. Make sure and have a lash comb so you can get off the excess fibers, it wont make it look so clumpy!! (My daughter hid mine which is why mine are a little clumpy.)
2. Make sure your fiber brush isn't too thick or again it will be super clumpy and the fibers wont stick and that's just wasteful!!
3. After you apply the gel i found it better to move on pretty fast to the fibers, once the gel dries obviously the fibers wont stick as well!

I added two coats just to see the difference. I have basically no lashes due to a bad lash extension job about six years ago! I'll still def wear my falsies if I'm going out somewhere big, but for everyday or small events these are PERF! Especially if you have a little lash at all, they will be KILLER!

BOTTOM LINE
I recommend them!! It works better than my Tarte for the same price and I will probably get about a month longer out of Younique!! However if you do want to place an order and you dont know anyone personally, my sweet friend Torri would love your business!

Urban Decay Electric Palette

I know i'm a little late to the party for this palette but it took me a while to get the confidence to wear bright shades and to justify the price tag!

A few months ago I posted about Sleek Makeup, I was determined to find a dupe for the Electric palette, tbh, there is no great dupe for it!! I'm SOOO obsessed with the Electric palette!!! Its majorly pigmented and the colors are gorgeous!! My pictures don't do it justice AT ALL!! Not only can you wear this palette with all the brights but you can also do your darker shades and then use this for a pop of color! I've added my favorite tutorial in a link below and also some link to a few other pictures!

Here is a link to many different looks.

Foundation

When you have oily acne prone skin finding a foundation is HARD!! Forever I wore Mac Studio Fix but after we moved to Longview and the employees at our MAC counter were LESS than helpful I decided to move to Sephora.
Did you know you can go in Sephora tell them your skin type and they will give you samples?? They're THAT nice! So after trying several I decided on NARS! I've used it several months and I love it. When I saw Casey Holmes video on the Born this way foundation I hadddd to try it, then I also added a sample of the Becca foundation just to see what the hype was about.

If you need full coverage, BECCA is the way to go!! I almost don't even want to finish my Nars, that's how much I love Becca!! (But at $50 a bottle I will get ever single spot out of it
If you don't need full coverage the too faced will be great for you!

The too faced was just okay, it was as good as my nars, not terrible but I did get oily by midday!!

Small tip ** using a setting spray personal favorite here, after your foundation and concealer, then using it again after your entire makeup is complete will really help!!

My current lash

I've been wearing lashes for six years, and I've been wearing Ardell for close to two years so i'm super unsure why I have never worn the wispies, they are seriously perfect!! With the thin line it makes it 100000 times easier to apply them and they look natural!! My bff/co-worker even said how great they look today, and she doesn't throw out compliments if she doesn't mean it ;) I can usually get a week out of a pair of Ardell, cant beat that for $4!!

Side note on why I have to wear falsies - BAD eyelash extension job many years ago.

Bottom line, do your research before you go get them done!

Fiona Belt Dress

I've had my eye on this dress from ZZS since it came out and I finally gave in and bought it!! I'm 5'4 and the length is a little short, if you're taller you can always throw on some leggings or jeggings with it! I paired it with boots today but you could really do any shoe!! A small in my opinion could fit up to a size 8!
Code zzs172 gets you 10% off the entire order! (note: the model in the link is 5'8 size 6 in a small, most ZZS runs a little big, im 5'4 size 2 in a small)

#momlife

I had the most perfect shoot planned for this post, my husband would get home right after me, Cali and I would be ready in the backyard and it would be great. Yea, not how it happened. My husband had to work late and Cali wanted to stay inside and watch sharks, so basically I looked like a drunk in the backyard taking pictures of myself. #momlife
I'm in love with graphic tanks/tees and also working with the Tiny Jewel, we're also working together on a Gossip Girl set so be on the lookout for that!!

Lasagna Soup and Taco Wraps

My two new recipes for the week.
4.5 more hours until i'm off for 4 day :)

Lasagna Soup

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Yield: About 5 servings
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced (2 cups)
  • 3 - 5 garlic cloves, to taste, minced
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 3/4 tsp dried basil
  • 3/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley, plus more for garnish
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 8 lasagna noodles, broken into bite size pieces (6.5 oz)
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (5 oz)
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded parmesan cheese (2 oz)
  • 8 oz ricotta cheese
Directions
  • Heat one tablespoon olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Once hot, crumble beef into pot, season with salt and pepper to taste and cook, stirring occasionally until browned. Drain majority of fat from beef and set aside (you can drain it all if you want it to be healthier I just like the little bit of flavor a small amount of the fat gives). Heat remaining 1 Tbsp olive oil in pot, add chopped yellow onion and saute until it begins to soften, about 3 minutes. Add in garlic and saute 30 seconds longer. Add in chicken broth, diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, rosemary, fennel seeds, thyme, sugar, parsley, the cooked ground beef and season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring just to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare lasagna noodles according to directions listed on package, reserving 1 cup pasta water before draining pasta.
  • Add cooked pasta to soup along with 1/2 cup - 1 cup pasta water as desired. In a mixing bowl, using a fork, stir together mozzarella, parmesan and ricotta.
  • Ladle soup into bowls, dollop with a large scoop of the cheese mixture and sprinkle with chopped parsley (you can help the cheese melt better by cooking in the microwave after dolloping over soup for a bit or you could put the soup in oven safe bowl, top with cheese mixture and set under broiler to melt well. Or just stir into very hot soup and it should melt well).

Taco Wraps

My dear friend Heather told me about this recipe and im so glad she did!!

1 lbLean ground turkey or beef (I used extra lean)
1 cupSalsa (I used Newman's Own Pineapple salsa)
1 (4 oz)Green chiles
1/2 tbsTaco seasoning
Toppings:
1 (15 oz) canCorn, drained
1 (15 oz) canBlack beans, rinsed and drained
1Head lettuce OR 6 low carb tortillas
Optional:Low fat plain greek yogurt or low fat sour cream, additional salsa for serving, corn, black beans, sliced olives

Spray a large skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Add turkey meat, salsa, green chiles, and taco seasoning to skillet, and turn on heat to medium high.  Stir everything to combine, breaking up turkey as best as possible while cooking. Cook for 8-12 minutes, or until turkey is completely browned, and cooked through, (no longer pink). Take off heat. Add beans and corn and stir to combine.
To make the lettuce wraps, Cut off the stem (or base) of the lettuce head, and cut in half long ways. Peel off individual leaves, and wash and pat dry.  Scoop 1/2 cup meat into lettuce wraps and and top with low fat plain greek yogurt or low fat sour cream, additional salsa, and olives if desired.
